About the role
We’re seeking a dedicated Line Locator to join our team in Williston, ND, for a long-term opportunity that combines technical skill, safety, and hands-on outdoor work. In this role, you will be the frontline guardian, using specialized locating equipment to detect and mark underground utilities, ensuring safety and compliance in excavation projects. Your expertise will help prevent accidents, support efficient operations, and uphold the integrity of vital energy infrastructure across our projects.
Responsibilities
- Use specialized locating equipment to detect and mark underground utilities.
- Ensure safety and compliance in excavation projects.
- Prevent accidents and support efficient oil field operations.
- Maintain documentation and update tickets using computer skills.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of compressor stations, gathering systems, and processing plant operations.
- Experience with mechanical equipment and safe handling of flammable gases and liquids.
- Proficiency in using utility locating equipment and tools.
- Strong computer skills for documentation and ticket updates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, heights, and confined spaces.
- Must pass drug and alcohol testing as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Availability for overtime, weekend work, and callouts.
- Physical ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and perform physically demanding tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in utility location, excavation, or oil field environments is highly desirable.
Skills
- Prior experience in oil field or pipeline location (nice to have).
- Familiarity with excavation safety procedures (nice to have).
- Ability to witness third-party crossings and handle multiple priorities (nice to have).
