About the role

H 2 O Innovation is a leading company in water and wastewater treatment, specializing in innovative water technologies, services, specialty products, and contract operations. We are seeking a skilled Line locator to join our team in Gulfport, MS.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground water & wastewater lines within the system to prevent damage from excavation work performed around the lines.
• Locate water & sewer lines within the system.
• Work closely with other utility companies and contractors to prevent damages to underground utilities.
• Monitor all location requests and complete requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain and safeguard equipment to keep it in operational condition.

Skills

• Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
• 2 years of experience locating or working with underground utility lines.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions associated with the equipment.
• Ability to walk long distances outdoors daily and lift charges of over 40 lbs.
• Ability to understand maps and engineering prints.
• Ability to open sewer manhole lids using tools such as pry bars and lifting hooks.
• Prior experience with directional horizontal drilling/boring is an asset.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a background check including criminal background & motor vehicle report checks.
• Drug and alcohol screenings.
