Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Check out and report anything found on your assigned forklift(s) at the beginning of the shift (checklist must be completed at the beginning of every shift)
- Load any order that is given accurately and in a timely manner
- Inspect trailer for damage, holes in floor, ceiling, sides and report any damage found to the supervisor on duty
- Clean up work area after order is completed (pickup pallets, plastic, broken wood, etc.)
- Work on any task assigned by Shift Leader(s)
- Work safely and wear all required PPE
- Other duties as assigned
- Maintain off-loading of products from production line
- Inspect products for quality, proper labeling and proper package count
Physical Requirements
- Able to push or pull heavy carts, objects, etc.
- Able to work in cramped areas in cramped positions at times
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to bend at the waist and knees
- Able to twist at the waist
- Able to raise arms above head and perform overhead work
- Able to climb
- Able to drive a forklift or heavy equipment for extended periods of time
- Many movements may be repetitive depending on circumstances
Work Environment
- Indoor/outdoor environment
- Indoor and outdoor environments are dusty and the temperature is comparable in both environments
- Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven
- Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes
- Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes
- The manufacturing process involves toxic or caustic chemicals
- Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection and in certain areas may be required to where dust masks, respirators, gloves or head protection
