About the role

Sorrel River Ranch is a luxury property along the scenic Colorado River, offering 240 acres of land with stunning views of buttes and mesas. Located 17 miles from Moab, 21 miles from Arches National Park, and 43 miles from Canyonlands National Park, this exclusive oasis is seeking entrepreneurial culinary team members to enhance its dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Help reposition service, systems, and offerings to highlight on-property farm, animal program, and cultural diversity
• Lead culinary team in achieving AAA or Forbes luxury service standards
• Manage kitchen operations, ensuring efficient use of basic kitchen equipment and adherence to recipe measurements
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Train and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of service and quality
• Adapt to changing guest needs and preferences, providing exceptional service
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Basic kitchen equipment operation: stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, fryers, steamers, kettles, etc.
• Understanding of recipe measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fine dining or upscale restaurants
• Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
• Working knowledge of food preparation and cooking fundamentals
• Working knowledge of sanitation standards
• Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail and multitasking
• Good supervisory and communication skills
• Proficiency in computer skills including POS systems, Word, and Excel
• Professional appearance suitable for a fine dining establishment
• Excellent service attitude, willingness to exceed guest expectations, flexibility, and adaptability
• Enthusiasm for the job, restaurant, and hotel
• Considerate, patient, and willing to assist colleagues
• High work ethics, personal morals, and honesty
