About the role

Join the team of the Napa Valley Wine Train, a historically luxury and iconic experience that has been a staple in Napa's Wine Country for over 30 years. As a Line Cook, you will prepare and cook for guests on various train experiences, including legacy, lunch, and dinner trains, as well as seasonal experiences and private events. Your role will contribute to ensuring guests have a memorable stay with your friendly, energetic, and professional personality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for fine dining service on a moving train.
  • Assist with pastry preparation as a Pastry Chef de Partie.
  • Work in a fast-paced, small-space environment.
  • Maintain accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to industry’s best practices for cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
  • Entry-level experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a small space, fast-paced environment, and on a moving train.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be available for day or evening shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Serve Safe certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Must be able to speak and read English at a minimum.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to provide documentation to legally work in the United States.

Skills

  • Fine dining service experience.
  • Familiarity with culinary best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma is a plus.

Pay

$21.00-$27.00 per hour (including gratuity incentives).
