Line Cook II (pastry cook)
About the role
Join the team of the Napa Valley Wine Train, a historically luxurious and iconic experience that has been a staple in Napa's Wine Country for over 30 years. As a Line Cook, you will prepare and cook for guests on various train experiences, including legacy, lunch, and dinner trains, as well as seasonal experiences and private events. Your role will contribute to ensuring guests have a memorable stay.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for fine dining service on a moving train.
- Apply skills as a Pastry Chef de Partie for dessert and pastry preparation.
- Work in a fast-paced, small-space environment while maintaining accuracy and speed.
- Collaborate with the team to uphold high standards of service and hospitality.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
- Entry-level experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Familiarity with industry best practices.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a small space, fast-paced environment, and on a moving train.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be available for day or evening shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Serve Safe certification (or ability to obtain).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to provide documentation to legally work in the United States.
- Basic proficiency in speaking and reading English.
Culinary school diploma is a plus.

$21.00–$27.00 per hour (including gratuity incentives).
