Line Cook - Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant Niu Valley

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant working in the noodles and tenpura stations. Our restaurant prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences through quality food and outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations throughout the shift.
• Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared following food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage food inventory and minimize waste.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure ingredient quality and freshness.
• Support the kitchen team during peak hours by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Pay

Compensation ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, plus tips, based on experience. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, with shifts in the morning and evening.

Schedule

Shifts are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
