Line Cook - Gyotaku King Street

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant. Our restaurant prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences through quality food and outstanding service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations throughout the shift.
• Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared following food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage food inventory and minimize waste.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure ingredient quality and freshness.
• Support the kitchen team during peak hours by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Skills

• Food safety knowledge and multitasking.

Pay

Pay Grades (Plus approximately $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts):
Cook III - Trainee through ability to work 1 station expertly: $16 - $18/hr.
Cook II - Ability to work 2-3 stations expertly: $17 - $19/hr.
Cook I - Ability to work 4 stations expertly: $18 - $20/hr.
