About the Role
Join our team in a fun, family atmosphere where you’ll learn business, leadership, and hospitality. We’re looking for someone who wants to love people by cooking up great-tasting and great-looking food in a newly remodeled, busy environment with flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items according to Applebee’s recipes, plate presentations, and specifications (50% of the role).
- Complete all assigned prep work (15% of the role).
- Set up your workstation according to the station diagram (15% of the role).
- Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (10% of the role).
- Clean and sanitize the work area before, during, and after your shift (5% of the role).
- Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (5% of the role).
- Work in and be cross-trained in all kitchen department roles.
Requirements
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow.
- Able to place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves.
- Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, and other food preparation tools.
- Mobility required throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
- Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.
Physical Demands
- Navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests.
- Move and grasp items up to five pounds regularly.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Bend and stoop as required.
- Adequate vision to discern cleanliness and operate a touchscreen.
