Line Cook

About the role

Ed Oliver Golf Club in Wilmington, DE is seeking a part-time Line Cook to assist the Chef or Kitchen Manager in preparing food for all food outlets on the property. This role involves food preparation, kitchen sanitation, and adherence to procedural guidelines established by the Food Service and Safety Department as part of Troon, a global leader in golf and community management.

Responsibilities

• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
• Assist the Chef or Kitchen Manager with setup and preparation of food items for all food outlets.
• Follow standard recipes while preparing all assigned items.
• Conduct monthly food and supplies inventory.
• Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Perform cleanup and sanitation maintenance for food preparation and storage facilities.
• Distribute food and supplies throughout food outlets.
• Clean food production, holding, and serving equipment as needed.
• Assist with product receiving and storage.
• Ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• One to two years of cooking experience.
• Experience managing and upholding safe working conditions.
• Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Dependable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment and take direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Working Conditions

• Regularly stands, walks, bends, and scoots for extended periods of 6–8 hours.
• Regularly reaches with arms and hands.
• Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds.
• Uses sight, reading, and wrist movement to operate food service equipment and clean areas.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Noise level is moderate to loud.
• Works extended hours during golf and holiday seasons, including weekends and holidays.

This position averages 12–39 hours per week.
