Line Cook | Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER

Shaner Hotels is seeking a skilled and creative line cook to join our team at the Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER in downtown Buffalo’s Canalside Entertainment District.

About the role

Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts. You will create and design new and unique menu items, assist the Executive Chef in establishing and adhering to department budgets, and ensure all food and beverage products meet hotel standards. You will also maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality through preventative maintenance programs and comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in designated outlets according to standards and plating guide specifications.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Ensure all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to hotel standards.
• Keep all equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and adherence to culinary preventative maintenance programs.
• Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a line cook or in a relevant role.
• Great attention to detail and creativity.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification and food safety certification preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques, and nutrition.
• Safe food handling certificate preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions.

Pay

Starting at $19.50 per hour. Rate negotiable based on experience.
