About the Role
Thompson Dallas, the Texas debut at The National, is a 52-story building with a midcentury-modern hexagon design, prominently rising above the Dallas skyline. Designed to encompass an entire city block, Thompson Dallas will feature 219 guestrooms including 52 suites, two defining dining options, and 20,000 sq ft of stunning event space. Amenities include a resort-style pool, a custom-curated fitness facility, a spa, and a dog park. The property aims to bring guests and the community together through an inspired tribute to history, design, and culture.
Cook positions will accurately and efficiently cook and assemble dishes that meet the culinary and aesthetic standards of the Chef team. The Cook will also be responsible for maintaining and preparing mise en place, upkeeping their assigned station, and ensuring the effective and comprehensive closure of the kitchen to facilitate a healthy work environment. Additional requirements and specifications will be assigned based on the specific Cook role.
Responsibilities
- Execute food products that meet culinary standards.
- Maintain an understanding of cooking times and temperatures as dictated by the Chef Team.
- Follow proper kitchen opening and closure protocols.
- Handle, store, and rotate all product properly.
- Report to scheduled shifts, meetings, and events on time and ready to work.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and area.
- Bring personal cutlery tools/knife roll.
Qualifications
- Culinary degree preferred but not required.
- Upscale and/or fine dining experience preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification required at the time of hire.
