Responsibilities
- Assists in the assessment of children and the development of age-appropriate activities.
- Cooperates with other teaching staff in planning and implementing a curriculum that meets NAEYC criteria.
- Plans and maintains schedules and routines.
- Participates in the daily observation and evaluation of children.
- Uses observations and developmental checklists to support the lead teacher in curriculum planning, portfolio creation, and assessment.
- Prepares for parent conferences and fills in for the lead teacher when needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean, healthy, and organized physical environment.
- Safeguards the classroom and playground equipment and materials.
- Effectively supervises children at all times, ensuring proper meal service and attendance records.
- Communicates with parents, children, and coworkers, maintaining clear and respectful interactions.
- Ensures compliance with ADHS and NAEYC guidelines for guidance and discipline.
- Coordinates staffing and covers breaks as necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 12 hours of early childhood education from an accredited college.
- 1 to 2 years of childcare experience in a licensed facility.
- 2 to 3 years of experience preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card from the state.
- Current Child Care First Aid within 7 days of hire.
- Food Handlers Card within 7 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license for driving HonorHealth vehicles (if applicable).
