Limited Term Adjunct Instructor (Chinese) (Multiple Positions)

The University of Arizona Language Training Center (LTC) is currently hiring Instructors for short-term intensive Chinese language courses. Funded by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office, the LTC offers language instruction certification and advanced training in multiple strategic languages.

About the role

• Teach small group classes of up to 12 students
• Develop and implement lesson plans based on course objectives
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Participate in professional development activities

Responsibilities

• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Engage students in interactive and collaborative learning activities
• Monitor class sizes and adjust as necessary
• Collaborate with other instructors and administrative staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in linguistics, education, or related field
• At least two years of teaching experience at the college level
• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Pass a background check
• Valid driver’s license (if required for travel)
• Travel to various locations within the United States
