The University of Arizona Language Training Center (LTC) is currently hiring Instructors for short-term intensive Spanish language courses. Funded by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office, the LTC offers language instruction certification and advanced training in multiple strategic languages.
About the role
- Teach intensive Spanish language courses to students from various backgrounds
- Provide instruction that aligns with the curriculum and educational goals of the LTC
- Assess student progress and provide feedback through regular evaluations
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to improve program quality
Requirements
- A Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the college level
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English
- Experience with online/blended learning platforms
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Pass a background check
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Travel may be required for course delivery
