About the role

The Limited Practice Technologist (LPT) is an entry-level imaging professional supporting patient care while pursuing Radiologic Technologist certification. Under Utah LPT license and department guidelines, responsibilities include performing radiologic exams, preparing patients, producing diagnostic images, ensuring radiation safety, educating patients, documenting procedures, and collaborating with healthcare team members. The role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse imaging procedures in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic exams within scope
  • Ensure proper patient identification and safety
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging
  • Produce high-quality images following safety standards
  • Educate and address patient concerns
  • Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment

Requirements

  • Current Utah LPT or Limited Scope Operator license
  • Enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program aiming for ARRT certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Competency in approved LPT examination areas
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Ability to see, read, and operate equipment
  • Effective verbal communication and quick understanding in emergency situations

  • Potentially drive and transport patients and supplies
