Full-time position at AFC Urgent Care of Longmont for a highly motivated X-ray Tech (LSRT/RT) with the ability to perform medical assisting tasks. The ideal candidate is assertive, proactive, and eager to expand their medical knowledge while working in a fast-paced team environment.

Schedule

  • Monday and Tuesday: 7:45 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:45 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Every other Saturday and Sunday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Approximately 4 weekend days per month required
  • 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

X-ray Duties

  • Greet patients, ensure removal of jewelry and metal objects, confirm appropriate medical gown is worn, and verify patient is not pregnant
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified body areas as requested by the provider
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment; ensure supplies are ordered and stocked
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
  • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment in compliance with approved radiology techniques and AFC policies
  • Prepare images for provider review and contact additional providers for second opinions if needed
  • Assist providers with prescribed patient treatments following approved standards, policies, and protocols
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment; arrange for repairs as needed
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed
  • Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions to management
  • Ensure regular attendance to support efficient clinic operations

Medical Assistant Duties

  • Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Prepare equipment and assist providers during treatment and examination of patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved techniques
  • Maintain awareness of patient comfort and needs
  • Start lab equipment daily and perform scheduled maintenance
  • Maintain daily logs; document all lab requests and results accurately
  • Draw blood from patients’ fingers or veins, observing principles of asepsis
  • Perform laboratory tests according to written instructions
  • Administer IV fluids to patients (training provided if not certified)
  • Perform daily quality control and cleaning procedures according to guidelines
  • Order and stock supplies weekly
  • Respond to lab messages and call-back requests; share responsibility for call-back sheets
  • Utilize lab software and equipment according to proper procedures
  • Collect specimens from patients using approved equipment, sequence, and procedures
  • Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or providers of changes
  • Respond to life-saving situations based on standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
  • Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are appropriate, well-documented, and administered using approved techniques
  • Conduct provider referrals and service pre-certifications as needed
  • Document past medical history and assess patients
  • Rotate among clinical services such as lab, medical assistant, and front desk duties
  • Prepare rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Ensure work areas are neat, clean, fully stocked, and laundry items are laundered and put away
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations with an emphasis on customer service
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks
  • Respond to patient messages, document conversations in electronic medical records, assist with discharging duties, and share call-back responsibilities
  • Ensure regular attendance to support efficient clinic operations

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs
  • Treat people with respect, inspire trust, work with integrity, and uphold organizational values
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in all work
  • Serve as Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant when needed
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands

Pay

$30.00 - $36.00 per hour
