About the role
The Lighting Consultant position at Georgia Power is a Level 4 or 5 Exempt Position within the Lighting Sales & Smart Services Business Unit. This role is responsible for managing the regulated lighting market, supporting unregulated lighting sales, cultivating profitable sales leads, and delivering world-class customer service to residential, small commercial, and municipal customers.
Responsibilities
- Responding to customer inquiries related to sales, billing, relocations, and removals
- Meeting with customers and determining lighting needs
- Estimating costs, ordering materials, and billing the customer using the Job Estimating and Tracking System (JETS)
- Staking jobs for accurate installation of material and creating installation packages for the installation coordinator
- Interacting with the distribution mapping system to create construction prints and as-built drawings that will be added to the distribution base maps
- Accessing the Customer Service System (CSS/C2M, OSC) to obtain customer lighting account information, enter case notes and repair orders, and update customer information
- Maintaining a personal vehicle and traveling throughout the assigned territory daily
- Traveling overnight as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Electric utility experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Experience working with outdoor lighting preferred
- Working knowledge of distribution mapping software and role-related customer software is preferred (i.e.: JETS, GIS, CSS/C2M OSC, DistView, LAMP, OSC)
- Knowledge of outdoor lighting design, products, rates, and engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly
- Able to coordinate multiple projects and ensure customer satisfaction
