About the role
This position will perform routine and some non-routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles (Primarily Class 8 Trucks and Pickups) which adheres to Transdev standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components.
- Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately.
- Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
- Aid Tech III with preventative maintenance (PM’s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage.
- Remove and replace engine, transmission and differential assemblies with Maintenance Technician III supervision.
- Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Aid with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures.
- Moves vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Repairs and maintains all shop equipment.
- Cleans vehicles as requested or required.
- Other responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license (if required).
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Intermediate problem-solving ability.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools.
- Strong customer service skills and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.

- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintained in a clean and safe manner.

Pay
Compensation package of minimum $22.00 – Maximum $26.00 / hour.
