Responsibilities
- Inspect and make repairs on all aspects of automotive vehicles and equipment.
- Do general and major work on vehicles, buses, light and heavy trucks, graders, and other automotive diesel and mechanical equipment.
- Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts.
- Tune motors using standard testing equipment.
- Repair and overhaul brakes, transmissions, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies; repair and install hydraulic controls.
- Perform different phases of tire work and minor body repairs.
- Perform emergency road repairs and test vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Prepares shop work orders on equipment repair, and orders parts as needed to maintain stock.
- Makes service calls as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Mechanic experience will be considered.
- Diesel Technology degree preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years Mechanic experience repairing and troubleshooting Caterpillar mining equipment.
- Experience must include working with Ford & Dodge trucks 2005-present.
- Previous experience working on Ford light vehicles.
- Previous remote rotational work experience as a Mechanic required.
- Working knowledge of Red Dog facilities preferred.
- Drivers License and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
