Lift Operator

About the Role

The Lift Operator plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to members and guests at The Hermitage Club. This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of ski lifts, assists guests with loading, riding, and unloading, and provides excellent customer service by answering questions and offering assistance. The Lift Operator must maintain a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor while prioritizing guest safety.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests warmly, offering assistance, providing recommendations, and answering questions about trails and conditions.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of guests on ski lifts, maintaining constant awareness of safety and making quick decisions to prevent accidents.
• Oversee the proper functioning of lifts, perform pre-operational checks, and assist with routine maintenance in accordance with safety policies.
• Verify lift tickets and passes to ensure all guests have proper credentials before using the lifts.
• Assist in daily snow removal, work area setup, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of lift stations.
• Collaborate with Ski Patrol and Lift Maintenance teams to address operational issues or guest concerns, and support other departments as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports on daily lift operations, incidents, and required maintenance.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to legally work in the United States.
• Prior experience in lift operations or ski resorts is a plus but not required.
• Ability to pull, lift, or move up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in harsh winter weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English to maintain accurate daily logs.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions, including weather and guest needs.
• A positive attitude and willingness to assist with tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Adherence to The Hermitage Club’s appearance standards and safety policies.
