Equipment Operator

Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team at our J Bar J Landfill in Ogallala, Nebraska.

Pay

$23–$24 per hour. Overtime is paid for every hour after 40.

Schedule

Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and every other Saturday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Spread and compact trash using a compactor
• Spread daily cover using a dozer
• Maintain haul roads using a grader
• Work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Follow safe operating practices
• Learn and use interpersonal skills for good customer service

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Extensive physical activity requiring strenuous work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 60 pounds
• Exposure to outside weather: frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration
• Moderate noise level

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
• Two years of experience preferred
