About the Role
KRCW/Portland’s CW and KOIN-TV are seeking a Lifestyle Show Producer for the hour-long weekday lifestyle show Everyday Northwest. This role focuses on growing the show by overseeing daily operations, booking guests, and producing on-location segments. You’ll collaborate closely with the show anchor, sales team, and other staff to create an entertaining and locally reflective program that highlights life in the Pacific Northwest, featuring local businesses across the Portland-Vancouver-Salem DMA and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Line produce and booth the daily, hour-long lifestyle show
- Create and manage the show rundown
- Write and approve scripts
- Create and insert graphics
- Communicate changes to the anchor and director
- Conceptualize segments and features
- Schedule and book guests
- Work with the anchor/host on interviews and on-location segments
- Balance feature content to create compelling shows
- Edit video
- Engage with viewers and users on social media
- Collaborate with the sales department, Sales Manager, and General Manager to plan weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales-related segments and programs
- Attend sales calls with key clients to present segment and program ideas
- Collaborate with the Creative Services Director and Digital Director to expand the show’s reach and branding
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Minimum one year of experience in news or live show production
- Proficiency with software: ENPS (preferred), Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere and Photoshop), Bit Central
- Deadline-driven with the ability to work well under pressure
- Creative thinker who is open to trying new ideas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Work Environment
- High-stress environment with deadline pressures
- Requires day-to-day multitasking and managing multiple projects with frequent changes in direction and priority
- May require working weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)
- Occasional travel required
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
- Must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use email, write letters and memos, and engage in face-to-face discussions
- Repetitive movements required (e.g., typing, editing)
- Work may involve extreme lighting conditions (bright or inadequate) or outdoor temperatures
