About the role

EYC News Now is seeking a passionate host and producer with deep community knowledge to co-host and produce a lifestyle show focused on southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. The role highlights local culture, food, music, arts, and events, featuring guests from the region. The ideal candidate will thrive on local news, collaborate effectively, and engage with viewers and the community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as co-host and co-producer of a community-focused lifestyle show
• Assist in shooting, writing, and editing stories, with an emphasis on local events
• Meet daily deadlines for content production
• Write and post stories on multiple social media and digital platforms
• Update the station website and social media accounts throughout the day
• Adhere to station branding, promotion, and safety rules
• Perform other duties as requested by the News Director and/or General Manager

Requirements

• 4-year degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, or a related field
• Engaging and comfortable on-air personality
• Ability and desire to enterprise and produce local stories and content
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player with a positive attitude, integrity, and accountability
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to spend extended periods sitting, using a telephone and computer workstation
• Able to drive a vehicle and travel to various locations for extended periods

Pay

$18–$22 per hour
