About the role

EYC News Now is looking for a passionate host and producer that knows the community. We are in the heart of southern Minnesota, with the Twin Cities only being an hour away. We want someone who thrives on local news and community information. We are looking for a co-host and producer for our lifestyle show, focusing on what makes southern Minnesota and northern Iowa a fun place to live, work and play, featuring the food, music, arts, culture and more of the region. You’ll co-host the show and create content that airs in the show, including booking guests from around the region. The ideal candidate will be a team player and be able to communicate effectively with management, staff, KEYC News Now viewers and our community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as co-host and co-producer of community focused lifestyle show
• Assist in shooting, writing and editing stories with an emphasis on covering local events
• Meet daily deadlines
• Write and post stories on multiple social media and digital platforms
• Update station website and social media accounts throughout the day as needed
• Adhere to station branding and promotion
• Adhere to safety rules and programs and assist in implementing new safety initiatives
• Other duties as requested by News Director and/or General Manager

Requirements

• 4-year degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field
• An engaging and comfortable on-air personality
• The ability and desire to enterprise and produce local sports stories and content
• Excellent communicator
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Integrity, accountability, teamwork
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Spend extended periods of time sitting, using telephone & computer workstation
• Able to drive vehicle and spend extended periods of time in a vehicle traveling to and from various locations

Pay

$18-$22/hr
