Lifestyle & Entertainment Associate Producer, NBC & Telemundo Miami

About the role

NBC6 is looking for an Associate Producer for South Florida Live, a lifestyle show covering local events, culture, and community-related stories.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Executive Producer and Producers to produce the daily South Florida Live program.
• Assist with coordinating elements for the daily lifestyle program.
• Write copy for daily segments.
• Be resourceful and creative in delivering the program’s message, including using clips and graphics.
• Find background information on lifestyle and community news stories using sources like the internet, newspapers, and magazines.
• Research segment ideas and information as directed.
• Assist in booking guests.
• Support producers with story production and pre-interviews.
• Create and trigger graphics daily in the control room.
• Collaborate with the team to support production of other lifestyle and community programming.
• Support production of assets for use across all platforms and channels.
• Assist with news coverage during major breaking news events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or an equivalent degree.
• At least 2 years of television production experience.
• Experience independently developing story ideas, conducting research, and planning show segments.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts with little or no notice.

Eligibility Requirements

• Willingness to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends), and report to work in emergencies for news coverage.
• Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willingness to work in Miami, FL, and travel as needed for special assignments.
• Valid driver’s license.
