Lifeguarding Instructor

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach lifesaving skills while maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Teach in accordance with the American Red Cross basic-level Lifeguarding standards.
• Ensure the competency of each participant through practice of water rescues and skills.
• Keep attendance and records of completion for participants.

Previous Work Experience

• Previous teaching, instructing, or coaching experience preferred.

Education

• Must be 17 years of age and have a high school diploma.

Special Skills & Training

• Coaching or teaching background is required, including but not limited to:
• WSI (Water Safety Instructor)
• Swim team
• Swim club
• Avid swimmer
• Coaching
• Swim lessons
• Other formal training
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

Ideal Applicant

• The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working with all ages.

Lifeguard and Lifeguarding Instructor Certification

• Must possess Lifeguard and Lifeguarding Instructor Certification.
• Will provide training.

Start Date & Work Schedule

• Start date: ASAP
• Work schedule: 5-28 hours/week; rotating weekend schedule.
