About the role
The Aquatics Department at the City of Fort Collins is seeking a Lifeguard to protect patrons' lives and well-being at the indoor pool.
Responsibilities
- Prevent accidents by eliminating hazards or hazardous behaviors.
- Enforce all pool policies and operational procedures.
- Educate the public on safe recreational habits and encourage their cooperation.
- Maintain physical fitness for emergency procedures.
- Care for equipment, facilities, and environment, including cleaning duties.
- Attend and participate in required City-sponsored clinics, workshops, and meetings.
- Inform supervisor of any disciplinary issues.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 15.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid certifications required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate office equipment.
- Physical demands include bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and operating computer keyboards.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to read written materials and observe programs.
- Speech and hearing capabilities for maintaining communications.
Benefits
Variable hourly rate of $15.75 per hour based on relevant experience. Post-offer background check required. Remote or hybrid work is available but must be performed in Colorado.
