Lifeguard

About the role

The Aquatics Department at the City of Fort Collins is seeking a Lifeguard to protect patrons' lives and well-being at the indoor pool.

Responsibilities

• Prevent accidents by eliminating hazards or hazardous behaviors.
• Enforce all pool policies and operational procedures.
• Educate the public on safe recreational habits and encourage their cooperation.
• Maintain physical fitness for emergency procedures.
• Care for equipment, facilities, and environment, including cleaning duties.
• Attend and participate in required City-sponsored clinics, workshops, and meetings.
• Inform supervisor of any disciplinary issues.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 15.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate office equipment.
• Physical demands include bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and operating computer keyboards.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to read written materials and observe programs.
• Speech and hearing capabilities for maintaining communications.

Benefits

Variable hourly rate of $15.75 per hour based on relevant experience. Post-offer background check required. Remote or hybrid work is available but must be performed in Colorado.
