Life Skills Trainer

About the role

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene
• Transport clients to appointments using company vehicles
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping
• Provide wheelchair assistance and ensure safe mobility
• Offer companionship and meaningful social interaction
• Help maintain the safety and well-being of each individual served
• Use proper lifting and body mechanics to safely assist clients

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• 6 months – 1 year of caregiving or human services experience (preferred but not required)
• A valid, non-probationary driver’s license held for at least 1 year with no restrictions
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to pass a background check
• Caregivers must demonstrate compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others
• Must be able to safely bend, lift, and assist individuals with mobility

Preliminary Requirements

• Provide proof of a valid driver’s license (non-probationary for at least 1 year)
• Ability to attend paid orientation and commit to training

Schedule

• Most schedules include every other weekend

Pay

• $13/hour starting pay
• Additional differentials for education & experience
• Additional $0.50/hour for 1–3 years of experience
• Additional $1.00/hour for 3+ years of experience
