Overview
The house consists of six individuals, three TBI's, and three DD's. Five of them are males and one is female. Maple Avenue is known for fostering a family-like environment and a welcoming atmosphere for both residents and staff.
1st Shift
- Two direct care staff members are responsible for breakfast, medications, grooming, and preparing individuals for their day.
- Two of the men living in the home attend a Day Work program at Belimo Air Controls four days a week from 9 am to 2 pm. Staff drive them to work and pick them up after.
- The remaining four individuals engage in leisure activities, participate in skill-building programs, and sometimes go on local trips for lunch.
- Mornings are described as busy but fun and fast-paced.
2nd Shift
- Two direct care staff members prepare lunches for the next day.
- Staff assists individuals with their programs, medications, and bedtime routines after dinner.
- The evening staff enjoys outings or movie nights, which are always enjoyable.
3rd Shift
- One staff member handles overnight care, including toileting and general care for the individuals.
- Three individuals require toileting assistance and showering in the morning.
- If time permits, breakfast is prepared.
- The house is equipped with alarms and monitors to ensure staff are aware of the individuals' activities and whereabouts, making overnight shifts less stressful.
