Life Safety Monitor Technician

About the role

The Life Safety Monitor Technician at CHI St Alexius Bismarck ensures efficient and compliant communication for the entire St. Alexius Health Medical Center campus and its affiliates. This role involves processing all incoming calls, alerts, and walk-in patients, adhering to established protocols, and facilitating emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Maintains critical alarm systems and acts as an internal emergency operator
• Coordinates emergency responses by dispatching clinical and non-clinical personnel, security, and external agencies
• Serves as the after-hours switchboard operator, handling and screening incoming hospital calls
• Utilizes various communication technologies to share timely information across facilities and personnel
• Manages audio/visual and access control systems, providing security oversight and completing required logs and reports

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• BLS certification upon hire
• Proficient with phones and communication systems; basic to intermediate computer ability
• 3 years security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred

Preferred

• 1 year in a communications center
