Job Duties
- Receives all incoming requests for assistance from requesting entities.
- Captures and relays navigational information to assets.
- Maintains and updates records of all assets and crews during day-to-day operations.
- Monitors and tracks all assets and crews using flight-following systems, communication equipment, weather reporting systems, and other necessary equipment.
- Coordinates the movement of assets to ensure the closest, safest, and most appropriate response to each request.
- Notifies relevant parties of estimated times of arrival or departure for all missions and transports.
- Handles incoming medical command requests, trauma notifications, and alerts, connecting them to Medical Command and other necessary contacts.
- Communicates with all relevant parties regarding incoming and outgoing assets, ensuring timely updates and notifications.
- Coordinates incident responses, keeping the Leadership Team informed and managing all actions taken during incidents.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new department personnel as needed.
About the Role
Operates specialized communications, satellite tracking, weather reporting, and computer-assisted dispatching equipment. Provides coordination with referring entities and agencies, while adhering to regulations and recommended operating procedures of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Communications Commission. Adhere to the Life Flight General Operations Manual and the Life Flight Communications Center Operations Manual.
Requirements
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician OR Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher
- Certified Flight Communicator within 1 year of hire
