Life Enrichment Manager

About the role

Givens Estates is a leading continuing care retirement community in Asheville, NC, seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop, promote and coordinate engaging programming with a whole person wellness philosophy, including collaboration with the Life Enrichment Director and other Givens departments.
• Supervise life enrichment specialists and associates, including scheduling and monitoring time clocks and reports, ensuring compliance with Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living regulations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of a monthly calendar of events, both on-campus and off-campus, catering to various educational, cultural, and ability levels of residents.
• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, integration, and training, working closely with IL and Health Services life enrichment staff.
• Promote, coach, teach, and facilitate appropriate scheduled life enrichment programs, which may involve group or individual projects (approximately 15% of typical tasks).
• Afford support during the orientation of new residents.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by an authorized supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in gerontology, health promotion, exercise physiology, music therapy, art therapy, recreational therapy, or a degree in human services/social sciences or a related field.
• Managers working in health services must be certified and licensed Recreational Therapists or certified through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) as an Activity Professional Certified (APC) or Activity Director Certified (ADC).
• A valid NC Driver’s license and proof of a good driving record are required.
• At least 2-4 years of working experience with older adult populations, demonstrating the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to fulfill essential job responsibilities.
• At least 2-4 years of supervisory experience, preferably with managing a diverse team with varied skills and expertise.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in gerontology or a related field, along with a valid NC Driver’s license and a good driving record.
