About the role

We are seeking a Life Enhancement Coordinator to join our team at Highgate Senior Living. This position is full-time and involves creating and implementing engaging programs for our residents, including activities, events, and opportunities for learning and socialization.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an appealing program for seniors at varying cognitive and physical ability levels
  • Develop a program that includes opportunities for residents to continuously learn new things
  • Build a program encompassing physical exercise, spirituality, social engagement, creative outlets, intellectual stimulation, and opportunities for residents to give back
  • Lead the team in providing a program that promotes a sense of well-being and community
  • Design and facilitate activities that encourage socialization and continuous learning
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, staff, and volunteers to foster a supportive environment
  • Assist in marketing volunteer opportunities to support the overall program
  • Manage budgets for labor and supplies
  • Adapt to changing requirements and balance priorities to meet deadlines
  • Build and motivate a team that functions well

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • At least 2 years in customer service, event planning, or groups
  • Current negative TB test
  • Pass a criminal record/background check
  • Valid driver’s license with a qualifying driver abstract
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Track record of top-notch organizational abilities and leadership skills
  • A desire to have fun, interact with others frequently, and lead groups

Qualifications

  • 1- At least 21 years of age
  • 2- At least 2 years in customer service, event planning, groups is required
  • 3- Current negative TB test
  • 4- Ability to pass criminal record/background check
  • 5- Valid driver’s license with a qualifying driver abstract
  • 6- Good time management skills
  • 7- Must be able to work well independently with little oversight
  • 8- Must have a track record of top-notch organizational abilities and leadership skills
  • 9- A desire to have fun, interact with others with high frequency and be comfortable leading groups

Skills

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Innovative thinking necessary to develop a program that includes opportunities for residents to continuously learn new things
  • An understanding of how to build a program that encompasses physical exercise, spirituality, social engagement, creative outlets, intellectual stimulation, and opportunities for residents to give back
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong persuasion skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and ability to learn new software
  • Team player with ability to develop strong working relationships along with customer service focus
  • Ability to adapt/respond quickly to changing requirements and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines
  • An understanding or the willingness to gain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how to help residents with dementia still live with purpose
  • Leadership skills to build, motivate, oversee, and guide a team that functions well
  • Comfortable with marketing volunteer opportunities to support the overall program
  • Business acumen to assume responsibility for the budgets, both labor and supplies

Our compensation package is flexible based on the candidate's credentials, tenure, and skill sets. The starting hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Prior experience in seniors housing programming is preferred. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is preferred.
