Lieutenant - Staff Resource (#016032) Perry Correctional Institutional, Pelzer (GREENVILLE) Level 3
Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, this position ensures the safety and security of institutional staff by patrolling grounds, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies.
Develops and implements crime prevention strategies, provides guidance and resources to staff.
Collaborates with administration to address behavioral issues and training needs.
Through proactive security assessments and mentorships, this position fosters a safe, professional, and supportive work environment.
Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant experience.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
- SCDC Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above = 1 year).
- Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
