Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Licensing Coordinator for our Foster Care Program located in Lafayette, IN. The position offers a $2000 sign-on bonus for SAFE Certification and Experience, with payouts of $500 at start, $500 at 90 days, and $1000 at 6 months. The compensation starts at $50,000 annually.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Completes all required training in a timely manner.
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies to generate inquiries for viable licensed foster homes.
  • Supports the development of potential foster parents in understanding the needs of the youth entering foster care and the expectation of mentoring primary families.
  • Works with current, former, and prospective foster parents to recruit new foster families.
  • Ensures licensed homes meet or exceed community and organizational needs by working with current, former, and prospective foster parents.
  • Supports foster parents by providing information, education, meetings, support groups, and one-on-one discussions.
  • Travels daily to provide community-based services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Participates in the weekly supervision process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution required.
  • 2 years of work experience working in direct service with youth and families strongly preferred.
  • A current and valid SAFE Home certification preferred.
  • RAPT training is preferred.
  • Safe HS writing experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
  • 100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury required for car insurance.
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.
  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
  • Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others.
  • Willingness to work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
