The Merrill Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in Fontana, CA offers 24/7 voluntary treatment in a welcoming, home‑like environment to help individuals in mental health crisis avoid a locked setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery‑focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by the physician.
• Implement direct care safely, effectively, and efficiently in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) program and current licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certificate.
• For San Bernardino County FACT programs: minimum two (2) years of experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification (hands‑on course) required on date of employment or prior to providing direct client care; must maintain current certification throughout employment.
• Successful completion of post‑offer physical examination, 2‑step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background check, excluded party sanctions verification, and degree/license verification.
• If driving is required: valid driver’s license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance at hire, maintained throughout employment.
• Valid and current driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance listing
