About the Role
Under a Registered Nurse’s supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients, based on matching the patients’ needs with the LVN’s competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
Minimum Experience: None
Preferred Experience: LVN in an acute care setting.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Possession of current Texas State License for Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Required Courses/Completions
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Emergency Room).
- S.T.A.B.L.E. – Level 2 Nursery: Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer date into unit (Renewal is not required).
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Behavioral Health and Emergency Room).
