This is a limited-term Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) in Coalinga, Fresno County. Position number: 435-213-8257-XXX. Main communication for this position will be via email.
About the Role
Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III and the clinical guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides a basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in correctional healthcare settings. The LVN ensures the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients, working within their scope of practice and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider’s order and the delegation and clinical direction of the RN.
- Support the care team for daily healthcare operations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
- Address the ongoing needs of patients, working with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.
