Position Summary
The LVN is responsible for providing nursing support and medication oversight for clients in a residential mental health setting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders and is able to function independently in a fast-paced residential environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer and document prescribed medications
- Monitor client vital signs and overall physical wellbeing
- Observe and report changes in client condition to clinical leadership
- Maintain accurate nursing and medication documentation
- Cookise with physicians, pharmacies, and treatment team members
- Respond appropriately to medical or psychiatric concerns within scope of practice
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and California regulatory standards
- Support a safe, respectful, and therapeutic treatment environment
- Assist with admissions, medication reconciliation, and discharge coordination as needed
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted California LVN license required
- Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, detox, or substance use treatment preferred
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications and behavioral health populations preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to complete medication administration and documentation duties accurately
