About the Role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients under the supervision of a physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This role assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care and functions as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients under supervision.
• Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
• Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Adhere to healthcare systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
• Follow documentation standards for medical chart reporting and records.
• Manage and understand equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment.
• Perform basic laboratory procedures, including preparation and screening.
• Apply infectious disease management, control, and safety standards.
• Follow policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.
• Use appropriate assessment and assistance techniques.
• Apply universal precautions, safe workplace practices, and confidentiality methods.
• Manage health information by appropriately charting patient data.
• Supervise business practices, including principles of employee development to train, delegate, and mentor staff.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medications and pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting.
• Understand diseases and disease processes.

Requirements

• Completion of a Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• One year of Licensed Vocational Nurse experience.
• Current state vocational nurse license.
• Current CPR certificate.
