Licensed Veterinary Technician - Surgery & Anesthesia
About the role
The surgery department at Las Vegas Veterinary & Specialty Center is comprised of board certified surgeons along with advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT, Endoscopy, Ultrasound. Because we are a referral hospital, we see a lot of unique and challenging cases. We are looking for technicians who are flexible, adaptable, driven and who have an interest in advancing their anesthesia skills, surgical knowledge, and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
- Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient vital signs and activity based on position
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
- Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
- Helps keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintains client and patient confidentiality
- Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
- Meet or exceed LVVSC expectations for attendance and punctuality
- Act as an ambassador of LVVSC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
- Other duties vary based on role and department

Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician
- VTIT ready to sit for VTNE will be considered
- 2+ years experience within surgery
- Surgery department position requires current or recent considerable experience in surgery assistance and anesthesia
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
- Reliable, organized, and committed to provide high level care to our patients and clients
- A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!

Schedule
Four 10-hour shifts, blend of weekdays and rotating weekends. Must be available for on-call shifts
Pay
$25.00 - $30.00 / hour
Relocation assistance available!
Rotating on-call
6:00pm - 6:00am. Just for being on-call, you will be paid an additional $25 for weekdays and $50 for a weekend - whether you come in for not. If you come in for an on-call shift, you will be paid an additional $100 on top of your hourly rate. Eligible for overtime.
