Licensed Veterinary Technician - Pharmacy Tech - West Ashley Veterinary Clinic

About the role

West Ashley Veterinary Clinic in beautiful Charleston, SC, is seeking a passionate veterinary professional for a unique pharmacy and client-care-focused role within our growing 7-doctor small animal practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-clinic and online pharmacy refill requests
• Create and send treatment estimates to clients
• Follow up with clients regarding estimates, questions, and scheduling
• Conduct follow-up calls for sick appointments and monitor patient progress
• Confirm surgical appointments and review pre-operative instructions
• Ensure pre-op bloodwork and medications are completed before procedures
• Serve as a resource for CSRs regarding scheduling, triage, and medical questions
• Aid Veterinary Assistants with medication and treatment plan questions
• Communicate with outside laboratories regarding specialized testing and sample collection
• Coordinate smooth patient flow and continuity of care

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing
• Current state veterinary technician license in good standing
• Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures
• Calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively
• One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program
• One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred

Schedule

Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM Saturdays & Sundays: Closed Scheduling: Flexible daytime hours Full-time preferred, but we are open to discussing part-time options for the right candidate.
