Licensed Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology

Do you want to work with dedicated, high skilled veterinary professionals? As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will help diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing)
- Help hold patients for detailed ocular exam
- Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.)
- Set-up and assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and vision ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and complex surgeries
- Outpatient procedures: diamond burr debridement (to stimulate corneal healing), CO2 laser (to remove eyelid margin masses)
- Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma surgery
- For patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia, place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs through various routes, perform and monitor sedation/anesthesia (with advances skills including constant rate infusions, paralytics, ventilation, etc.)
- Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies
- Be the frontline in educating clients on their pet’s ocular disease and care
Requirements

Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of [State]
