Licensed Veterinary Technician, Neurology
About the role
The teams at Bush Veterinary Neurology Service and Virginia Veterinary Centers are proud to partner and provide care to further support veterinary neurology patients in our pet owner community! We're hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Neurology team!
Responsibilities
- Perform basic veterinary technician duties including venipuncture, placing IV catheters, drug calculations, administration of medications, taking vitals, observing, documenting, recognizing changes in patient condition, and providing high quality medical/nursing care.
- Work independently and as part of a team, practicing good judgment to ensure high-quality care for all patients.
- Adapt to the individual needs of each patient, ask questions to enhance skill set, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Experience with EzyVet and SmartFlow is a plus.
Requirements
- Current and active Veterinary Technician License in Virginia, or active license in another state qualifying for licensing.
- At least two years of Veterinary experience as an LVT, or one year as a LVT and two years as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Extensive experience with anesthesia, venipuncture, and catheters.
- Excellent communication, patient care, and customer service skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to new situations.
- Eligible to work in the United States and have original, unexpired documents to verify eligibility.
- Pass a 7-year background check and drug test (complying with local, state, and Federal guidelines).
- Valid high school diploma or GED.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
