Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

About the role

Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their growing team. The hospital is an 11-doctor, 24/7/365 Emergency and General Practice facility committed to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in providing quality patient care
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under veterinary supervision
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Monitor patients' vital signs and record data accurately
• Prepare and administer vaccinations and other medical treatments
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Train and assist in the care of patients at sister facilities as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
• Current license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in your state
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficient in computer systems and software relevant to veterinary practice
• Passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine

Skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule may vary between 4x10 hour shifts, and 3x12 hour shifts based on hospital needs.
