About the role
Buckley Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a community-focused veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality care to dogs and cats. Our team values veterinary technicians and supports their growth and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Aid in examinations, treatments, and monitoring of animals under a veterinarian's supervision.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
- Monitor vital signs, collect samples, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Prepare and analyze laboratory samples, operate and maintain lab equipment, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Assist with surgical procedures, prepare surgical suites, and provide post-operative care.
- Provide client education on wellness plans, animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Maintain thorough medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality control standards.
- Maintain hospital equipment and manage supplies.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the hospital, collaborating with team members.
- Perform reception duties such as triaging calls, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient intake and discharge.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree preferred.
- Must hold and maintain a valid certification, registration, or licensing as a CVT, RVT, or LVT (state-specific).
- At least 1 year of veterinary hospital experience.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical procedures, including surgery, dentistry, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and anesthesia management.
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Experience with veterinary medications, including dosage calculations, drug interactions, and administration methods.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to adapt to various client needs.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity.

Pay
$25 - $34 per hour
