About the role
We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team full time! Location: VCA Staten Island Animal Hospital Compensation: The pay range for this position is $31-$34/hr based on experience. (NYS Vet tech license is required)
Responsibilities
- Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
- Support technician and doctor teams by delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Perform physical examinations and patient assessments.
- Anesthesia monitoring.
- Surgical preparation and assisting.
- Dental procedures.
- Radiology and laboratory work.
- Venipuncture and catheter placement.
- Pharmacy and patient recovery.
- Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
Requirements
- NYS Vet tech license is required.
- Physical exams and patient assessment skills.
- Anesthesia monitoring experience.
- Surgical preparation and assisting.
- Dental procedures.
- Radiology and laboratory work.
- Venipuncture and catheter placement.
- Pharmacy and patient recovery.
- Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
Qualifications
- Worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT).
- Knowledge of physical examinations and patient assessment.
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring.
- Skills in surgical preparation and assisting.
- Experience with dentistry, radiology, and laboratory work.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
- Pharmacy and patient recovery skills.
- Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
