About the role

We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team full time! Location: VCA Staten Island Animal Hospital Compensation: The pay range for this position is $31-$34/hr based on experience. (NYS Vet tech license is required)

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
• Support technician and doctor teams by delivering an outstanding client experience.
• Perform physical examinations and patient assessments.
• Anesthesia monitoring.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Dental procedures.
• Radiology and laboratory work.
• Venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Pharmacy and patient recovery.
• Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.

Requirements

• NYS Vet tech license is required.
• Physical exams and patient assessment skills.
• Anesthesia monitoring experience.
• Surgical preparation and assisting.
• Dental procedures.
• Radiology and laboratory work.
• Venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Pharmacy and patient recovery.
• Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.

Qualifications

• Worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT).
• Knowledge of physical examinations and patient assessment.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring.
• Skills in surgical preparation and assisting.
• Experience with dentistry, radiology, and laboratory work.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Pharmacy and patient recovery skills.
• Compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
