Compensation

VCA Southern Tier Animal Hospital offers a salary range of $22 - $26/hour for the Licensed Veterinary Technician position.

About the Role

VCA Southern Tier Animal Hospital in Vestal, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their 3-doctor GP practice. Established for over 50 years, the hospital is AHAA accredited and located in a tight-knit community known for its wineries, restaurants, and the Finger Lakes region.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients
• Support technician and doctor teams by performing physical examinations and patient assessments
• Anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and assisting, dental procedures, laboratory work, venipuncture, catheter placement, pharmacy duties, and patient recovery
• Compassionately care for hospitalized animals

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician certification
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Proficiency in electronic medical records and practice management software
