Licensed Veterinary Technician and Anesthetist ($7,500 Sign On)

About the role

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS) is a leading veterinary hospital in New York City, offering state-of-the-art surgical care in a collaborative environment. We are currently seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Induce, maintain, and recover patients under anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures
• Maintain anesthetic depth, ventilators, IV fluids, and critical vitals in real-time
• Manage anesthesia equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth daily operating room (OR) flow
• Place and manage IV, arterial, and central lines with precision
• Work closely with the anesthesiologist to develop and execute patient-specific anesthetic protocols
• Contribute to a proactive, communicative OR culture emphasizing safety, teamwork, and efficiency
• Support surgical prep and patient handoffs to and from the intensive care unit (ICU) and outpatient teams

Requirements

• Licensure in New York State required
• 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
• Anesthesia, Critical Care, or ICU experience is a plus
• Experience with practice management software (e.g., ezyVet)
• Adaptability, positive attitude, and openness to feedback and continuous learning
